George Clooney: American (trailer)
Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 8:15AM
Everybody loves Raymond George Clooney! Several months ago I heard of a new Clooney in which he portrayed a badass sniper. What could possibly go wrong? Well, in the 1 minute trailer there were more stereotypes in this movie than a Best Buy. Shall we go through a few of them?
- This is his last mission.
- He's all alone
- Foreboding quote: "I do what I'm good at"
- He has a hot foregin love interest in which he lets down his guard (hint: she might kill him)
- He has a long list of enemies.
- Moral questions brought about by a priest; response "Everything I've done I've had good cause to do"
- He carries his rifle in a brief case.
- Motorcycle chase scene with silenced gun play whilst riding the bike!
- The dream of running away with the hot chick: "I can't stay forever" "Take me with you"
Someone will make a drinking game out of this movie and take a shot for every cliche hero quote. The American (a seemingly unconnected title, but Sniper and Shooter were already taken) is one covey of protagonist white doves away from a John Woo film.
