Boris Release Party

As a faux journalist I occasionally get invites to cool events in return for some coverage (speaking of which be sure to hit me up here if you want me to cover your event).  One of my favorites was the Warped Tour and my most recent event was a lot of fun covering a toy release party at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles.

I had heard of designer toys in the past (via Rocket World), but Boris was the first one I had ever seen up close.  Boris is a cute little badger hedgehog skunk animal that took center stage at the release party.  It is actually pretty sweet looking toy and I guess quite a few people are into these designer figures.

Boris was created by Nathan Hamill, and there is a reason his last name sounds familiar.  He is in fact related to Luke Skywalker (and the voice of Joker in Batman the Animate Series) and as Murphy's Law would dictate I found out after the event that Mark Hamill was at the party and I missed him.  Damn!  Alas I was there for Boris and free Asahi Beer & Tibetian Green Tea and coverage.

All in all it was a great night, and I'm curious to see what else Nate will be creating in the future.  If you are interested in purchasing Boris, be sure to visit Nate's site.
