Shutter Island: Scorsese Returns (trailer)

Scorsese is back with a brand new movie, and it is a little different from his previous works. I was kind of expecting a gagster-esce, organized crime syndicate type thing but rather Shutter Island is more of a horror type thriller.
The premise for Shutter Island surrounds a dark and scary asylum on a tiny island in the midst of frigid waters. DiCaprio is a U.S. Marshall who comes to the island to investigate an escaped crazy who has vanished from her cell (my thought is she probably just escaped via the PSYCHO PATH). Shutter Island has 66 "patients" on record and DiCaprio receives word (via paper scraps) about a mysterious 67th patient. It seems as though everyone is keeping a secrets about this unknown patient (although we know he is locked in back with a T.V. and craving Baby Ruths. He is also really strong and has a slightly pointy head) and the more DiCaprio digs the weirder things he experiences.

Call it my pessemistic nature, but I've got mixed feelings about this film. Perhaps I've been let down by films like this in the past (House on Haunted Hill anyone?), but I have this sinking feeling Shutter Island will have a good Act I and II with some decent scares and come Act III just won't deliver. Sure there are a bunch of big names attached to Shutter Island, and I really want this film to be good. Only time will tell...
