Miramax Films: Helping Pirates

As much as I try to get away from Adventureland, it just keeps coming back. The wonderful people at Miramax Films have attempted to venture into the land of Web 2.0 (although couldn't create a decent site for the movie Extract) by creating a Twitter account.

One of the fans was complaining about how there was no torrent readily available for Adventureland, and tweeted this information to the world. Big Brother Miramax responded by kindly asking omgamandaa (whose profile is now set to private) not to pirate the film and then offered a free ticket to the movie. This whole situation seems very odd, and I can't help but wonder if it was some type of publicity stunt. The fact that several readers have already told me they have seen Wolverine: X-Men Origins (it has already been leaked on bit torrent) and the above mentioned twitter user couldn't find a torrent just doesn't make sense. Either no one really cares enough to pirate Adventureland (I can see why) or Miramax is trying show that doing the right thing publicly announcing your crime pays off.
Hey Miramax Films, wanna hook me up with some press passes? I promise I'll be nicer in the future :)
